Phytoecia (Coptosia) bithynensis was reported to be associated with Cynoglossum cf. foliosum (Boraginaceae) [❖].

Body length:5 - 9 mm
Life cycle:1 year
Adults in:May - June
Host plant:Cynoglossum cf. foliosum, Anchusa
Distribution:Armenia, Bulgaria, Turkey


The mounted beetle was collected on Anchusa sp. in Karadut village environs (Nemrut Dagi National Park, Adiyaman prov., Anatolia, SE Turkey). Depicted living specimen was photographed on its host plant - Anchusa italica in Buglan Gecidi (Anatolia, SE Turkey).
