Rhagium iranum, desribed by Karl Maria Heller in 1940 [❖], belongs to the rarest species endemic to Iran. The life history and habitat requirements of this beetle closely resemble those of Rhagium sycophanta (Schrank, 1781).

Body length:	15 - 26 mm
Life cycle:	2 years
Adults in:	May - June
Host plant:	Quercus spp.
Distribution:	a species endemic to Iran

The adults are crepuscular. The depicted beetles were collected near Minudast (NE Iran, Khorasan province).
