Penichroa fasciata is in size and coloration unusually variable species, and it was reason for some mistakes in the description of new WP Cerambycids in the past [❖].

Body length:6 - 15 mm
Life cycle:2 - 3 years
Adults in:May - September
Host plant:polyphagous on deciduous trees (Juglans, Ficus, Populus, Prunus, Castanea, Ceratonia, Quercus etc.)
Distribution:whole Mediterranean region, Russia, Turkmenistan, Armenia, Azerbaijan, Iran


The depicted beetles were reared from larvae collected near Medulin (Istra, Croatia), in dead branches of fig tree (Ficus carica).
