The key difference of this subspecies from Rhamnusium bicolor bicolor is the same color pattern in males and in females - both always with red head, prothorax, elytra and legs; besides 5th antennal joint relatively wide; abdomen and femora bases partly darkened.
Body length: ♂ 16-18 mm / ♀ 16-20 mm Life cycle: 2 - 3 years Adults in: May - June Host plant: polyphagous in deciduous trees (Populus, Aesculus) Distribution: Most part of Krasnodar region, many specimens being known from the nearest environs of the city; Black Sea coast of Russia, as well as all Black Sea Transcaucasian coast; the taxon is known from Georgia eastwards to about Kutaisi; a big series was collected in Armenia near Idzhevan; south coast of Crimea Peninsula; North-east Turkey close to Caucasus.
The female beetle in the pictures was reared from larva collected in hollow of a living poplar (Populus sp.) 1 km E of Shoraveli (შორაველი, Adigeni district, Samtskhe-Javakheti region, Georgia).Collected by P.Jelínek
