Grammoptera ruficornis is a common and one of the most abundant Cerambycid flower visitors in temperate parts of Europe.

Body length:3 - 7 mm
Life cycle:1 year
Adults in:April - July
Host plant:larval development in rotten, by fungi infested branches of deciduous trees
Distribution:Europe, Russia, Caucasus, Transcaucasia, Turkey


The depicted beetle was collected and photographed on blossoming hawthorn (Crataegus) in Zbraslav (Prague, Central Bohemia, Czech Republic).
