Oxylia duponcheli is an endemic species in South of the Balcan peninsula (Albania, Bulgaria, Greece, Macedonia). Here, however, it is quite common. The beetle develops in roots of Echium and the adults are often collected on the host plants.

The depicted beetles were photographed and collected on the host plant (Echium italicum) in Ithilo (SW Peloponnese, Greece).
