Phytoecia (Musaria) tirellii, a rare endemic Italian (Apennine Mountains) species described by Paolo Luigioni in 1913 [❖], is developing in stalks of Crepis lacera (Asteraceae).
Body length: 8 - 13 mm Life cycle: 1 year Adults in: May - June Host plant: Crepis lacera Distribution: an endemic species to Italy
The depicted beetles were photographed by P. Jelínek on the host plant (Crepis lacera) in Monte Nerone (Appennino umbro-marchigiano, Pesaro-Urbino province, Italy) on June 3, 2017.
