The depicted beetles were collected on leaves of their host plant (black honeysuckle, Lonicera nigra) in Podbánské (Vysoké Tatry Mts., North Slovakia). The species is under a strict protection at present and can not be collected without breaking of the law!
Body length: 9 - 16 mm Life cycle: 2 - 3 years Adults in: June - July Host plant: honeysuckle (Lonicera nigra, Lonicera tatarica) Distribution: a very rare species endemic to the Carpathians (Slovakia, Poland, Hungary, Rumania)
Re-mounted specimens (over 55 years old) collected by J.Lorenc, in M.Švarc collection.
