Typical habitats of Dorcadion (Acutodorcadion) nivosum are steppe stony slopes and valleys in foothills with grass vegetation at 1 300 - 1 400 m. Species is distributed in foothills of southern macroslope of Dzhungar Mts. SE of Burkhan—Sarytau mountain massif, valley of Tyshkan River and environs of Sary-Bel village (South-Eastern Kazakhstan). Larvae feed on roots of grass species (Poaceae). Imagoes feed on above-ground parts of the same plants. In warm sunny weather, males are actively move in search of virgin females. Females are less active and usually staying under plants. [❖]

Adults in:3rd decade of April - 1st decade of June
Host plant:larvae feed on roots of various grass species (Poaceae)
