In the Mediterranean region (including North Africa) Trichoferus fasciculatus fasciculatus is a relatively common and a broadly polyphagous species. It develops in Ficus, Sorbus, Rhus, Nerium, Vitis, Paliurus, Spartium, Castanea, Ulmus, Morus, Punica, Rubus, Cytisus, Robinia, Ceratonia, Pistacia, Ziziphus, Coronilla, etc. Larvae feed especially in the wood of dead twigs 1 - 3 cm in diameter, but also in branches and trunks.

The beetles in the pictures were reared from dead twigs of grapevine (Vitis vinifera) collected in South-West Sardinia, Italy.
