*** Postdoctoral position - Experimental project on protein study

A postdoctoral position is available from 1.1. 2018 in the Department of Biophysical Chemistry at the J. Heyrovsky Institute of Physical Chemistry of the Czech Academy of Sciences, Prague, Czech Republic.

The postdoctoral fellow will work on an experimental project focused on the study of enzyme (dehalogenases) dynamics by means of infrared and fluorescence spectroscopy. The project is partially aimed at the development of new protein labelling strategies with functional groups that are suitable for fluorescence and infrared studies. The project also comprises the investigation of the enzyme's properties by means of advanced fluorescence and infrared spectroscopy, including single molecule fluorescence spectroscopy. The funding is guaranteed for one year, with potential prolongation depending on the research results.

The applicant must hold a Ph.D. degree in chemistry or physics. Previous experience with the protein handling, protein chemistry and protein derivatization is beneficial. Moreover, knowledge of advanced techniques of infrared and of fluorescence spectroscopy and microscopy is required.
