Požadavky: Fyziologický ústav AV ČR, v.v.i. vyhlašuje v souladu se zákonem č. 283/1992 Sb. o Akademii věd České republiky, ve znění zákona č. 420/2005 Sb. a Stanov AV ČR výběrové řízení na pozici Vedoucího oddělení Analýza fyziologicky aktivních látek/ Leader of the Department of Biologically Important Compounds Institute of Physiology (www.fgu.cas.cz/en Academy of Sciences of the Czech Republic, Prague) announces call for a Senior Research Team Leader position to be taken up at the Department of Biologically Important Compounds. Senior team leader’s basic salary (taxable) is expected to be approx. 28,000 – 40,000 CZK per month; Institute’s remuneration rules apply (exact salary depending on candidate’s experience and research performance). Additional salary supplements may be covered by external funding. Eligibility: PhD degree in relevant field or DSc Thesis Selection criteria: Candidates will be selected on the basis of academic merit, as documented by peer-reviewed publications, quality of their research proposal and its relevance to major fields of basic and biomedical research conducted at the Institute of Physiology (http://www.fgu.cas.cz/en/about/60-about-the-institute). In order to further advance the scientific performance of the Department (http://www.fgu.cas.cz/en/departments/analysis-of-biologically-important-compounds), sufficient experience is required regarding the translational aspects of the research, including characterization of interspecies and interorgan variability of metabolites and drug interactions (pharmacometabolomics), and integration and visualization of clinical and omics data (metabolomics, lipidomics, proteomics, RNA-seq) for better understanding of pathologies of metabolic diseases. The candidate must document capability to attract external funding, leadership/management skills, experience with a research stay in a foreign laboratory, and fluent use of English. Two-stage application procedure: Stage 1: Submission of the following documents to personalni@fgu.cas.cz, cc. petra.janeckova@fgu.cas.cz; all the documents must be obtained within 30 days after the announcement (1.2.2018): (i) professional CV, photocopies of educational attainment (ii) list of up to 8 most important publications with a brief outline of their scientific importance (up to 2 pages A4) (iii) a brief proposal for a scientific program for the Department (up to 2 pages A4), current research funding relevant to the research team, the possibility to transfer it to Institute of Physiology (external candidates only), and a list of submitted and anticipated grant applications, (iv) Names and e-mail addresses of at least two academic referees. Candidate may be selected already based on the Stage 1 of the procedure. Stage 2: Short-listed candidates will be invited to submit full proposals (up to 15 pages A4) and deliver a public lecture as part of their interview at the Institute of Physiology.
