Požadavky: The Institute of Biotechnology of the Czech Academy of Sciences announces in accordance with the Act No. 283/1992 Coll. on the Czech Academy of Sciences, and the Statutes of the Czech Academy of Sciences open full time position: PhD student of a research project “Centre for Recombinant Biotechnologies and Immunotherapeutics (CEREBIT)” Job description PhD student will be member of the Laboratory of Ligand Engineering at the Institute of Biotechnology (IBT) and involved in Research project BIOCEV - Research and Development of High-Affinity Binding Proteins. He/she will be responsible for the Research Plan 3 of the project CEREBIT (2018-2022) “Specific peptide ligands of selected autoantibodies for immunomodulation of immunocomplex autoimmune diseases”. The successful candidate will work with highly complex combinatorial libraries derived from protein domain scaffolds and will use methods of directed evolution of proteins and selection techniques for the identification of promising variants with a potential to prevent from the formation of antibody immunocomplexes or for the neutralization of cytokine/receptor-mediated cell signaling. He/she will be responsible for protein production, characterization of selected variants by biochemical and biophysical methods, ELISA-related approaches and by LigandTracer-assisted cell-surface binding assay. Requirements • MSc in Biochemistry, Molecular/Cell Biology or Immunology • Experience with protein expression and purification is advantageous • Proved history of research activities • Ability to actively participate in a research program • Excellent communication skills and teamwork • English, written and spoken, advanced level • PhD program will start in October 2018 What we offer • The contract is offered for three years with a possible prolongation till December 2022 Start date: April 1st, 2018 Workplace location: Centre of Excellence BIOCEV, Vestec, Prague West region, Czech Republic.
