The depicted beetles were reared from larvae collected in dead wood of Vachellia tortilis raddiana found in a wadi near Mizda (Hamada al Hamra) 200 km south of Tripoli (detail in the page devoted to Hypoeschrus dallonii biology). The finding represents the first record of this species from Libya [❖].
