Plagionotus arcuatus arcuatus is a very common European species developing in a variety of deciduous trees.

Body length:8 - 20 mm
Life cycle:2 years
Adults in:May - July
Host plant:polyphagous in deciduous trees (Quercus, Acer, Carpinus, Tilia etc.)
Distribution: Europe, Caucasus, Transcaucasia, North Africa, Turkey, North Iran


The living beetled in the pictured have been photographed in Prague-Jarov (Central Bohemia, Czech Republic). The depicted mounted beetles were reared from larvae found in dead thick oak (Quercus robur) branch in Břeclav (South Moravia, Czech Republic).
