Job description:
Post-Doctoral Researcher in Spectroscopy
The successful candidate will participate in research with the combined experimental-theoretical investigation of material chemistry of metal oxides, light converters, photophysics and development of new forensic techniques and optical systems.
Position Requirements:
Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
- A Ph.D. in physic, chemistry, materials science or a related field with specific experience in small organic molecule photophysics and spectroscopy and she/he Must be a recent PhD graduate within the last three years.
- Knowledge and hands-on experience with one or more of the following techniques: X-ray diffraction, reflectivity, spectroscopy, SEM and TEM
- Demonstrated problem-solving and troubleshooting skills in experimental science
- Self-motivation and ability to work in a diverse team environment
- Excellent verbal and written communication skill
Preferred Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
- Understanding the chemical and physical properties of materials
- Strong background in transmission electron microscopy, defect analysis, and far-from-equilibrium processes
- Strong theoretical knowledge base in quantum chemistry
- Experience in developing scientific apparatus for new problem
- Knowledge of the chemistry and/or atomic structure of materials
- Experience in applying and/or developing advanced data analysis software for Spectroscpy
Fixed term contract: until 31. 12. 2019
Contract type: full time
Start date: immediate
Salary: Remuneration is according to the Czech Science Foundation salary grade.
Deadline: The application deadline is 16th September 2018
Limitation: Appointments are made for fixed term.
