Postdoctoral positions
Two postdoc positions are available at the Institute of Computer Science of the Czech Academy of Sciences.
The positions are for the period April 2019 to June 2020, with the possibility of renewal until December 2021 (starting date is negotiable). Research will be conducted within the project “Structural properties of visibility in terrains and farthest color Voronoi diagrams”, funded by the Czech Science Foundation. The PI of the project is Maria Saumell.
The position comes with a gross salary of 44000 CZK/month which is quite above the average salary in Prague. Additionally, there is support for travel. There are no teaching duties. The successful candidates would also have the possibility to join the RISE project CONNECT .
The candidates should have strong background in discrete and computational geometry. The age limit is 35 years excluding maternity and parental leave, and sick leave in the case of a long-term illness.

Postdoctoral positions in Extremal Graph Theory
We are offering two postdoctoral positions in our team (http://uivty.cs.cas.cz/ExtrA/people.html) for the project “Embedding, Packing and Limits in Graphs” funded by the Czech Science Foundation. The candidates should have strong background in extremal graph theory, probabilistic method, or theory of graph limits and should have obtained their PhD after December 2010 (maternity, parental and sick leave can be taken into consideration). The position is full-time from April 1, 2019 (starting date is negotiable) until December 2021, when the project ends (part-time position can be considered). Gross salary is 38000 – 40000 CZK/month (see https://www.numbeo.com/cost-of-living/comparison.jsp). There are no teaching duties and there is support for travel. The position is in the beautiful city of Prague at the Institute of Computer Science of the Czech Academy of Sciences.

CAS–ICS postdoctoral position
The Institute of Computer Science (ICS) of the Czech Academy of Sciences (CAS) invites outstanding and enthusiastic junior researchers, PhD holders, to apply for a postdoc position funded jointly by CAS and ICS.
Conditions
- Each position is of 12–24 months duration.
- Application deadlines: yearly 30. March and 30. August.
- Starting date: the following 1. July or 1. January.
- This is a full-time fixed term contract appointment. Part time contract possible if taking care
of a child.
- Monthly gross salary: about 36 700 CZK offered by the Czech Academy of Sciences.

ICS Director
ICS Fellowship for junior researchers
The Institute of Computer Science (ICS) of the Czech Academy of Sciences (CAS) offers fellowships for outstanding and enthusiastic junior researchers, PhD holders, open to cooperation with some of the researchers of the Institute (www.cs.cas.cz).
Conditions
- Each fellowship is of 12–24 months duration (with possible extension up to 36 months to be decided after the first year).
- Application deadlines: June 30, 2019.
- Starting date: August 1, 2019 or upon agreement.
- This is a full-time fixed term contract appointment. Part time contract possible if taking care of a child.
- Monthly gross salary: about 30 000-50 000 CZK based on qualifications and experience.

ICS doctoral position
The Institute of Computer Science (ICS) of the Czech Academy of Sciences (CAS) offers fellowship for a promising PhD student with a view to create conditions for the fellow to write an outstanding PhD thesis.
Conditions
- The applicant must be a PhD student of computer science, mathematics or a related discipline.
- He/she has good prerequisites for scientific work which he/she can substantiate by concrete results.
- His/her PhD supervisor is an experienced, internationally recognized scientist.

- Fellowship is limited by 24 months duration or by applicant´s PhD thesis defense, whichever occurs sooner.
