About 60 outstanding engineers under age 45 from many nations met for an intensive symposium to discuss cutting-edge developments in four areas: Nanosensors, Big Data, the Future of Transportation, and Wireless Broadband. The occasion was The 2013 EU-US Frontiers of Engineering held November 21–23, 2013 in Chantilly, France. The event facilitated international and cross-disciplinary research collaboration, promoted the transfer of new techniques and approaches across disparate engineering fields and encouraged the creation of a transatlantic network of world-class engineers. It was hosted in partnership with the European Council of Academies of Applied Sciences, Technologies and Engineering and the National Academy of Technologies of France.
