Brain Awareness Week this year featured lectures by leading Czech neuroscientists and other brain scientists. A worldwide effort, it brings together academic, governmental and business representatives to share their research. It also aims to acquaint the general public about the treatment, prevention and cures for brain diseases. Launched in 1996 by the Dana Alliance for Brain Initiatives in New York, 862 groups in 59 countries participated this year. It was the Czech Republic’s 17th observance, held March 16-20 at the Czech Academy of Sciences main building.
