Species was moved into a newly estabilished subgenus Paracoptosia by Mikhail Danilevsky in 2017 [✩].

The depicted living beetle was photographed by our friend Karel Hodek in Anoixi (Άνοιξη) village environs (N39° 54.85' E21° 34.35'; Grevena prefecture, West Macedonia, Greece) in April 2016.
