A partnership between the CAS Biology Centre and industry and industry was formed recently. It comes under the BC’s Operational Programme Research and Development for Innovation-financed Technology Transfer Office (TTO). The BC had already formed a network of partners and experts that transfers its research results to the public for application.
A Research and Applications conference brought TTO specialists and direct research stakeholders (researchers, industry partners, research policy makers) together for discussion of both the TT and research evaluation fields. Included were technology transfer development in this country and abroad, questions of TT centralization, research result evaluation, spin-off and licensing in the new decade, how to scout and how to disclose or “research impact” expectations in Horizon 2020. The goal of the conference was to frame the topic of effective cooperation between academia and industry so that both sides are connected in a single system. The conference was held in České Budějovice March 17–19.
