Life cycle:2 - 3 years
Adults in:May - September (mainly in July - August)
Host plant:larval development in dead wood of coniferous trees (Picea, Pinus, Abies, Larix)
Distribution:Europe, Russia, North Africa


The mounted beetles were collected in Spišská Nová Nová Ves (NE Slovakia) on flowers (male) or on a fresh Norway spruce (Picea abies) logs (ovipositing female laying eggs). The living beetles were photographed on flowers in Liberec (North Bohemia, Czech Republic).
