According to Sturani [❖] Phytoecia (Musaria) rubropunctata develops in Trinia glauca (Apiaceae).

Life cycle:1 year
Adults in:April - June
Host plant:Trinia glauca, Seseli montanum (preferred host plant in France, H. Brustel, personal commun.)
Distribution:Austria, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Bulgaria, Croatia, Czechia, Hungary, Italy, Moldova, Romania, Russia, Slovakia, Ukraine


The depicted mounted beetle was found on the ground near its host plant in North France. The living beetle was collected in Gensac s/G (France).
