Dorcadion (Acutodorcadion) alexandris is known only from southern slopes of Zhety-Yhol and Kastek mountain ranges (altitudes 900 — 2 000 m) in Southern Kazakhstan. Larvae developing on roots of various grass species (Poaceae), including feather grass (Stipa spp.) and fescue (Festuca spp.). Adults feed on overground parts of the host plants. In warm sunny weather, males are actively moving in search of virgin females. Females are less active and usually staying under plants. [❖]
