Callergates gaillardoti (Chevrolat, 1854) occurs in Turkey, Syria and Lebanon. The species develops in Pinus spp. and it is often accompanied by its close relative Ergates faber (Linnaeus, 1767).
Body length: 25 - 65 mm Life cycle: at least 3 years Adults in: June - August Host plant: pine (Pinus) Distribution: Cyprus, Turkey, Syria and Lebanon
The beetles in the pictures were reared from larvae collected in Kassab N Latakia (NW Syria) in a dead decaying trunk of Pinus halepensis.Collected by M.Rejzek and V.Čelikovský
