Body length:	9 - 22 mm
Life cycle:	2 years
Adults in:	April - July
Host plant:	polyphagous, but coniferous trees are strongly preferred
Distribution:	Europe, Algeria, Russia, Caucasus, Transcaucasia, Turkey

The beetle in the upper picture was collected and photographed in a park-forests in Dresden city (Saxony, Germany) on a freshly felled Scotch pine (Pinus sylvestris) log. The beetles in the lower pictures were collected in Stará Boleslav (Central Bohemia, Czech Republic) on a stump of a freshly felled Scotch pine tree (Pinus sylvestris).
