Body length: 8 - 15 mm Life cycle: 2 years Adults in: April - July Host plant: polyphagous in deciduous trees (Fagus, Acer, Carpinus, Alnus, Crataegus, Corylus, Rosa, Quercus etc.) Distribution: Europe, Caucasus, Transcaucasia, Turkey, North Africa
The depicted living beetle was collected overwintering in the pupal cell in a dead hornbeam (Carpinus betulus) trunk in Kohoutov Mt. (Křivoklátsko UNESCO Biosphere Reserve, Central Bohemia, Czech Republic). The mounted beetles were beaten from a blossoming hawthorn (Crataegus) in Zbraslav (Prague, Central Bohemia, Czech Republic).Collected by M.Hoskovec and P.Jelínek.
