Dorcadion auratum is very rare and local species, known only from Georgia and Armenia.
Body length: ♂♂ 10 - 13 mm / ♀♀ 11 - 14 mm Life cycle: 1 year Adults in: April - May Host plant: roots of grasses (Poaceae) Distribution: Armenia, Georgia
The mounted beetles (male, androchromic female and autochromic female) were collected in Kaspi (კასპი) environs on April 17, 2014. Depicted living beetles were collected in Uplistsikhe (უფლისციხე) on May 11, 2016. Both localities are situated in Shida Kartli region of Eastern Georgia.
