Saperda similis Laicharting, 1784 is distributed in Europe and the Near East. It develops in living tissues of goat willow (Salix caprea). Attacked trees can be easily recognised by an amount of frass expelled by later larval instars when creating pupal cells at the beginning of May (Central Europe).

Life cycle:	2 - 3 years
Adults in:	June - August
Host plant:	goat willow (“)
Distribution:	Europe, Kazakhstan, Russia

Beetles in these pictures were found on leaves and trunks of young goat willow (Salix caprea) in Ještěd Mt. (Liberec environs, North Bohemia, Czechia).
