Purpuricenus interscapillatus cornifrons, the most northern subspecies of P. interscapillatus known from the mountains between Tunceli and Mus in Eastern Turkey), was described as distinct species [✧], but it can be considered only an extreme form of P. interscapillatus according to the body shape and structure of pronotum.

Life cycle:2 - 3 years
Adults in:June - July
Host plant:oaks (Quercus)
Distribution:an endemic species of Eastern Turkey


The depicted beetles were beaten from oaks in Buglan Gecidi (NW Mus, East Turkey).
