Purpuricenus interscapillatus cornifrons, the most northern subspecies of P. interscapillatus known from the mountains between Tunceli and Mus in Eastern Turkey), was described as distinct species [✧], but it can be considered only an extreme form of P. interscapillatus according to the body shape and structure of pronotum.
Body length: 10 - 20 mm Life cycle: 2 - 3 years Adults in: June - July Host plant: oaks (Quercus) Distribution: an endemic species of Eastern Turkey
