Dorcadion (Cribridorcadion) sevliczi, rare and endemic Armenian Dorcadion species with a small area of occurence limited to environs of high-alpine crater lake Sev (Sev Lich), is very close relative of the more abundant Dorcadion (Cribridorcadion) indutum Faldermann, 1837 [❖].
Body length: ♂♂ 10 - 14 mm / ♀♀ 13 - 15 mm Life cycle: 1 year Adults in: May - June Host plant: roots of grasses Distribution: an endemic species to Armenia: Sev Lich environs
The depicted beetles were collected in alpine meadows 2 km E of Sev Lich (Սև լիճ / Lake Sev) in altitude 2650 m (Medz Ishkhanasar mountain range, Syunik province, SE Armenia) on June 11, 2012.Collected by M.Hoskovec
