According to Martin Rejzek et al. [❖] in Turkey Phytoecia (Neomusaria) balcanica develops in Salvia sclarea (Lamiaceae).

Body length: 8 - 13 mm
Life cycle:1 year
Adults in:April - June
Host plant:sages (Salvia spp.) - e.g. Salvia sclarea
Distribution:Bulgaria, Crete, Turkey


The beetle in the picture was collected on Salvia sp. in village Sanycik (NE Turkey).
