This beautiful Mallosia species, close to Mallosia jakowlewi, was recently described by Gianfranco Sama and Kálmán Székely from Zagros Mountains in Western Iran [✧].
Body length: ♂♂ 24 - 35 mm / ♀♀ 35 - 43 mm Life cycle: 1 year Adults in: May - June Host plant: Ferula sp. Distribution: a species endemic to Iran
The depicted beetles were collected on the host plant (Ferula sp.) 3 km NW of Ārdaḵān (East Iran, Fārs province) on May 1st, 2016.Collected by our friend Lech Kruszelnicki
