This interesting and elegant Cerambycid species has been introduced to Europe (northern Adriatic) from North America in the XIXth century and is spreading now.

Body length:7 - 15 mm
Life cycle:1 - 2 years
Adults in:April - August
Host plant:polyphagous on a broad variety of deciduous trees
Distribution:Austria, France, Croatia, Italy, Hungary, Slovenia, Switzerland


The depicted beetles were reared from larvae found in a dead trunk of lotusberry (Celtis australis). The trunk was collected in Šušnjevica (15 km east of Pazin, Istra peninsula, Croatia).
