Dorcadion (Cribridorcadion) ringenbachi, an endemic Iraqi species discovered by Jean-Claude Ringenbach, was recently described by Pierpaolo Rapuzzi and Gianfranco Sama. Only two specimens were found, the holotype is in collection of Pierpaolo Rapuzzi.

The depicted beetle (paratype) was collected in Galala environs (N36°39′53″ E44°47′47″ - 2560 m a.s.l.; Erbil Governorate, Kurdistan Region of Iraq) on May 14, 2014.
