Body length: 10 - 20 mm Life cycle: 2 - 3 years Adults in: May - September (mainly in July - August) Host plant: larval development in dead wood of coniferous trees (Picea, Pinus, Abies, Larix) Distribution: Europe, Russia, North Africa
The mounted beetles were collected in Spišská Nová Nová Ves (NE Slovakia) on flowers (male) or on a fresh Norway spruce (Picea abies) logs (ovipositing female laying eggs). The living beetles were photographed on flowers in Liberec (North Bohemia, Czech Republic).Collected by M.Hoskovec.
