This species occurs early in the spring (about May 15th in Central Europe) and prefers oak growing on south facing slopes with thermophilous vegetation.

Body length:12 - 20 mm
Life cycle:2 - 3 years
Adults in:May - July
Host plant:polyphagous in deciduous trees (Quercus, Acer campestre)
Distribution:Europe, Crimea, Russia


The mounted male was captured on wing in Dobřichovice village (Central Bohemia, Czech Republic). The female was beaten from oak (Quercus robur) in Pouzdřany (South Moravia, Czech Republic). The living beetles were captured on wing in Srbsko village (Central Bohemia, Czech Republic).
