The depicted mounted beetles were beaten from leaves of common walnut tree (Juglans regia) in neglected old gardens near Perivoli village (SW of Corfu Island, Greece). The living beetle was beaten from leaves of hazel (Corylus avellana) in Srbsko (Central Bohemia, Czech Republic) on May 8, 2003.Collected by M.Hoskovec
Similarly to most (if not all) of other Lamiinae, Oberea linearis feeds to sexually maturate. Adults of this species feed on lateral veins of young hazel leaves, creating a typical pattern.
