This rare representative of a new Metallidia subgenus of Phytoecia was described according to two collected specimens (♂ / ♀) by Denis Kasatkin in 2011 [❖]. Both adults beetles were found on Rindera albida (Boraginaceae), which is probably the host plant of this interesting Phytoecia.

The depicted beetles were collected in Buğlan Geçidi (Muş province, East Turkey) on May 29.-30., 2011.
