This rare and interesting Phytoecia, which larval development is still unknown, was recently moved by Denis Kasatkin [❖] from subgenus Coptosia into newly described subgenus Coptosiella. Our specimens, photographed in Gori, unfortunatelly doesn't show the real beauty of this Phytoecia species. The dense velvet-like light gray pubescense of freshly emerged adults, typical for this species, was scratched and mostly gone in our captured beetles...

Body length:12 - 15 mm
Life cycle:1 year
Adults in:May
Host plant:unknown
Distribution:Turkmenistan, Iran, Armenia, Azerbaijan, Georgia

The depicted living beetle was collected by P.Jelínek in Gori environs (Georgia) on May 11, 2016. The mounted specimen was collected by G. Romancov in environs of Geghard (Գեղարդ) monastery (Goght village, Kotayk province, Armenia) on May 20, 2009.
