Ropalopus nataliyae is rare, in maples developing endemic Iranian species, recently described by Mikhail Danilevsky and Yuri Skrylnik from mountains in Golestan province [❖].

Body length:	15 - 20 mm
Life cycle:	2 - 3 years [?]
Adults in:	May - June
Host plant:	maples (Acer spp.)
Distribution:	an endemic species to Iran

The depicted mounted beetles were reared from larvae found in dead maple (Acer sp.). Collected by our friend Lech Kruszelnicki 3 km SE of Khosh Yeylāq (Golestān province, Iran) in June 2015.
