Brachyta borni is a very rare species endemic to France, namely to the French Alps (Col de Vars, Alpes-de-Haute-Provence), where it inhabits the alpine zone. Its biology has been discovered and reported on by Hervé Brustel et al. [❖]. According to this work Brachyta borni is associated with alpine cinquefoil (Potentilla crantzii). The larva feeds in the roots of this plant.
