The taxonomic status of this unmistakable and massive Anatolian Vadonia species is still vague, but in our opinion this taxon (species/subspecies ?) is clearly distinguishable from Vadonia bittisiensis Chevrolat, 1882. All specimens captured during our expeditions to Anatolia we found on Prangos spp. only.

Body length:12 - 20 mm
Life cycle:2 years [?]
Adults in:June
Host plant: unknown, Prangos (Apiaceae) is possible host plant
Distribution:an endemic species to Turkey

The depicted beetle was collected on flowering Prangos [❖] in the summit plateaus of Nemrut Dagi Mt. (Adiyaman prov., Anatolia, SE Turkey).
