In Nemrut (SE Turkey) Phytoecia (Musaria) astarte lederi is regularly collected on a sg. Cynarae (Asteraceae) plant which most probably serves as its host [❖].

Life cycle:1 year
Adults in:May - June
Host plant:thistles (sg. Cynarae)
Distribution:Armenia, Azerbaijan, Georgia, Turkey


The depicted beetles in the were collected in summit plateaus of Nemrut Dagi Mt. (Adiyaman prov., Anatolia, SE Turkey).
