Exocentrus lusitanus is a common species distributed in Europe (continental part) and the West of the European part of the former Soviet Union. It develops in broadleaf trees, mainly in lime (Tilia), only occasionally in hazel (Corylus). Larvae feed under bark and in the wood of dead, dry branches and twigs.

Distribution:	Europe, Western Russia

The depicted beetles were reared from a tiny dead twig of a lime (Tilia sp.) found in Dymokury (Central Bohemia, Czech Republic).
