Parmena balearica, a species endemic to Balearic Islands, was described in two subspecies by Eduardo Vives in 1998 [❖].

Body length:	8 - 12 mm
Life cycle:	1 year
Adults in:	December - July
Host plant:	Helleborus foetidus, Euphorbia characias, Nerium oleander
Distribution:	a subspecies endemic to Mallorca (Balearic Islands)

The depicted beetle was collected near Sa Coma de n'Arbona (Sóller, Mallorca lsland, Spain).
