Agapanthia naciyae, a new Turkish species, is strictly related with A. osmanlis Reiche et Saulcy, 1858. But thanks to many features, both taxa can be well distinguished. Agapanthia naciyae is smaller than A. osmanlis, with a very light green color without whitish longitudinal stripe made by short pubescence. Elytra show long erect hairs till the apex, in A. osmanlis this hairs are only on the first half of the elytral length and antennae are shorter [❖].

The complicated taxonomic situation in Agapanthia osmanlis species cluster (comprising following taxa: Agapanthia osmanlis, Agapanthia ozdikmeni, Agapanthia viti and Agapanthia naciyae) was solved by Pierpaolo Rapuzzi and Gianfranco Sama in 2012 [❖].
