Host plant:polyphagous in deciduous trees (Juglans, Castania, Corylus, Populus, Platanus, Tilia, Malus)
Distribution:Europe except the North, Turkey, Syria, Iran, Caucasus, Transcaucasia


The depicted mounted beetles were found on a trunk of a dead plane (Platanus orientalis) in Leptokaria (North Greece) at night. The live female beetle (upper photo) was captured on eastern slopes of Ossa Mt. (Thessaly, Greece). The live male beetle (lower photos) was photographed only (protected species in Central Europe) on a living small-leaved lime (Tilia cordata) near Malacky (SW Slovakia) at night.
