Deilus rugosicollis differs from the sister species Deilus fugax (Olivier, 1790) for the particular wrinkled pronotum, only punctate in D. fugax. Elytra are without any erect hair and covered by denser yellowish pubescence. Deilus rugosicollis, which has almost identical bionomy to Deilus fugax, has been described by Pierpaolo Rapuzzi and Gianfranco Sama in 2012 [❖].
