The mounted beetle (common red form) was captured in Pouzdřany environs (South Moravia, Czechia) on May 14, 2004. The mounted rare black form of P. alni alni was reared from larva feeding in oak twig found in Agioi Theodoroi environs (730 m a.s.l., West Macedonia, Greece) in May 2016. The depicted living beetle (red form) was reared from a larva found in a dead twig of Quercus frainetto found near Posat village (SW Bulgaria, Maleshevska Planina Mts.).
